About

I began my road to Information Technology when I received my first computer at the age of 8. Since then, I.T. has been my interest, hobby, passion and career.

My professional technology career began in 1999. I have worked as Technical Support, Desktop Support, Desktop Engineering, I.T. Manager, System Administrator, Asset Management, and Application Security. I feel my varied disciplines allow me to solve problems in creative ways.

In my spare time, I enjoy continuing my technological journey with virtualization, home-server containerization, Unifi home networking, and web development. Additionally, I snowboard, road bike, shoot photography and drink espresso.

I have worked professionally in Information Technology/Security for over 20 years. This has allowed me to build a foundation of knowledge, based on several core tenets: Professionalism, Management, Communication, Process, Cost Avoidance, and Automation.

Professionalism

The foundation of my career begins at "Professionalism." To me, this means maintaining ethical standards, communicating directly and honestly, achieving goals, and constantly improving. These are the values I strive to achieve each day.

Management

I have over four years experience leading teams of security and technology professionals. Managing people, projects and expectations is a personal passion of mine. I enjoy accomplishing goals while motivating and communicating with my team.

Communication

I believe in succinct communication to relay ideas efficiently. I feel I am able to effectively communicate by understanding my audience. By providing status updates, initiating touch-points, and maintaining focus, I enable my management to be prepared in all situations.

Process

Adhering to standard process is one way to ensure efficiency in an organization. Documenting procedures ensures repeatable results. I have documented many of the processes I follow, which directly contributes to organizational standardization.

Cost Avoidance

Organizations require increasing value. Any project or task I undertake, has a focus on saving money, while providing the most value. I have worked to automate process, increase efficiency, and cut extraneous costs with software and hardware.

Automation

Automation is necessary to continuously improve upon current processes. There are always opportunities to make the environment run more efficiently. I have used automation to aid in asset management, data manipulation, report generation, and system administration.
